The Real Lives Behind Rubber: Why Rub-X Needs UN Custodianship

This is a call for human dignity and technological responsibility.

“Rubber sustains the world—but it hurts the workers.”

Behind every drop of natural rubber lies the harsh reality of millions of tappers who rise before dawn, carry heavy loads, and endure injury, disease, and chemical exposure. They produce the tires, gloves, and soles the world depends on—yet live on the edge of poverty, often with their children forced to join them in the fields.

Rub-X is a breakthrough technology that can change this. We respectfully call on United Nations agencies to host and promote Rub-X, ensuring it is not buried or privatized, but used to bring dignity and safety to workers across the globe.

Liberia: $3 a Day, 70 Kilograms on Their Backs

Firestone At Firestone’s rubber plantations, workers begin their day at 4 a.m., walking miles to collect latex. Some carry over 60 kilograms daily.

Sri Lanka: Injury Rates as High as 49%

Steep terrain, no protective gear, and poor lighting lead to frequent knife wounds, falls, and snake bites. Many tappers continue working into their 60s.

China: Widespread Illness, Children Forced to Help

87% of rubber tappers suffer from rheumatism; 86% have stomach ailments. In remote areas, families often rely on their children to assist with tapping to make ends meet.

Documentary: Voices from the Rubber Fields

This short documentary explores the lives of rubber tappers deep in the Amazon—revealing the environmental and labor conditions behind the global rubber supply chain. Narration in English.

What Does the Arrival of Rub-X Mean?

Rub-X represents a fundamental shift in how natural rubber can be harvested—safely, affordably, and without human suffering. It offers an alternative to outdated manual labor practices that have harmed millions for generations. With Rub-X, the world has a chance to end this hidden injustice and bring dignity and protection to the workers who sustain global supply chains.

We Call on the United Nations to Steward This Technology

The Rub-X project has been independently developed by an individual inventor with limited resources, yet the core technology has already been validated. We are ready to place it under the custodianship of the United Nations or any designated neutral body— to prevent it from being privatized, buried, or lost.

Please support our global petition to ensure Rub-X is used for the good of humanity— to end the suffering that rubber tappers should no longer endure in this generation.
